A native Slovakian, Tomáš Král graduated from the Slovak University of Technology with a degree in product design. After three years of study, he joined ECAL (L'école cantonale d'art de Lausanne) in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he still works as a teacher. He is one of the representatives of contemporary Swiss design, having won the Swiss Federal Design Awards in 2010. His work is not lacking in playfulness, colour and simple graceful geometry, which is sensitively translated into product design.
The inspiration for the JURO collection comes from the shape of the hat of the Slovak national hero Janosik. The principle of simple rounding has been transformed into a precise design.
