CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Surface treatment with products based on natural wax oils is today the predominant surface treatment of massive furniture.
It preserves the natural character of the product and its significant advantage is also easy maintenance and restorability of damaged surfaces.

GENERAL FURNITURE CARE

For regular cleaning and care, we recommend wiping the furniture with a dry and soft cotton cloth. Microfiber cloths are not suitable for treating oiled surfaces because they affect the oiled surface like fine sandpaper. Lightly soiled surfaces can be treated with common preparations containing waxes and oils, e.g. Pronto for wood, when we follow the instructions on the product (it is important that the surface is subsequently wiped dry).
Oiled surfaces do not provide as much protection against moisture and mechanical damage as lacquered ones. So, for example, when liquids or food are spilled, it is recommended to wipe off the dirt as soon as possible.

WARNING

The following home renovation instructions do not apply to lacquered surfaces and table work surfaces, coffee tables and bedside tables, on which a layer of resistant oil was already applied during production. In case of damage to such surfaces, it is necessary to contact us directly for renovation.

Home renovation of lightly worn surfaces

For slightly worn and damaged surfaces, it is advisable to use from the care package:

  • a sponge with a sponge on one side and an abrasive cloth (scotch-brite) on the other,
  • oil,
  • a dry cotton cloth.

Approach

  1. Sand the entire surface in the direction of the fibers with an abrasive cloth,
  2. Remove dust from sanding and apply a layer of oil of the appropriate shade with a sponge,
  3. After about 2 minutes of action, wipe off the oil and wipe with a dry cotton cloth.

Home renovation of moderately worn surfaces

For moderately worn and damaged surfaces, we recommend using from the care package:

  • sanding sponge,
  • a sponge with a sponge on one side and an abrasive cloth (scotch-brite) on the other,
  • oil,
  • a cotton cloth.

Approach

  1. Sand the entire surface with a sanding sponge so that dirt and fine scratches disappear from the surface,
  2. Then we sand the surface with sanding cloth (scotch-brite),
  3. Remove dust from sanding and apply a layer of oil of the appropriate shade with a sponge,
  4. After about 2 minutes of action, wipe off the oil and wipe with a dry cotton cloth.

Please be aware that the oil provides full protection only after complete hardening, for which the manufacturer specifies 14 days.
Until this time, after 24 hours (48 hours for Chocolate and Coffee colours), it is abrasion-resistant, does not stain and does not shrink.
However, it may be more susceptible to spotting when wet soiled.

Oils and care aids are part of the delivery in every order, or you can order them separately here.

For very worn surfaces, we recommend contacting our stores, where renovation can be arranged.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Don't forget to soak the used products in water after oiling! There is a risk of spontaneous combustion. When working with oil, it is necessary to ventilate the room and use protective gloves.
